There have been several famous child stars in the past that have either continued on with their acting careers or left the spotlight completely a few years after they shot to fame.
There are some, however, who became even more famous as they grew up.
One of the most famous young actresses who grew up in the spotlight is Drew Barrymore, who made her debut on "E.T." when she was just seven years old.
Emma Watson, before taking on more mature roles in "Noah" and the upcoming "Regression", spent 10 years as Hermione Granger in the "Harry Potter" franchise. Her co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, also took on the title role of the Warner Bros. films.
Neil Patrick Harris may be known as Barney from "How I Met Your Mother" now but his original claim to fame was his title role as "Doogie Howser, M.D."
Next up is "True Blood" star Anna Paquin, who won an Oscar for her role in "The Piano" when she was just 11 years old.
Natalie Portman started to become famous when she starred in "Leon" at age 13, while another A-Lister, Christian Bale, began his career at the same age when he appeared in "Empire Of The Sun."
