The smart ovens have arrived, and they don't need your help to make dinner.
Top executives of the first exclusive social networking app Path, Matthew Van Horn and Nikhil Bhogal, developed the first intelligent oven. The tech startup officially announced on June 9, 2015 the launch of the futuristic technology this coming Spring 2016.
The two tech wizards partnered with San Francisco-based brand development company Ammunition to build a kitchen product that would cater to the needs of the modern market.
"We have brought together some of the best minds in hardware and design to remove the pain points of cooking at home. We're so excited to introduce the June Intelligent Oven," Co-founder of June Matt Van Horn said.
Based on deep algorithms, the computer-based appliance could prepare meals for users in just one tap. Christened as June, the smart oven can be used to bake, toast, broil and do absolutely anything that a chef does with the traditional stove, and all you have to do is prepare the ingredients.
The oven comes with a downloadable app that allows consumers to control and manage the end-to-end cooking process. It provides a privy of the cooking process through a live video stream on the users' tablets.
The intelligent oven also sends status notifications to the user's mobile device to make the user aware if the meal is already cooked and ready to eat. Furthermore, June may recommend how to best prepare specific ingredients using an advanced image recognition technology.
With a 5-inch interactive display, June's navigation panel works like an iPad. It has a set of impressive specs and features: (1) 2.3GHz Quad Core NVIDIA Processor; (2) HD camera; (3) functional kitchen scale; and, (4) carbon-fiber and surround-diffusion heating technology. Large enough to roast a full-sized chicken, June fits your normal countertop. With a 21-inch window including two LED lights, users can monitor the cooking process every step of the way.
With the help of NVIDIA, June is able to process a lot of tasks without computational issues. "The NVIDIA Tegra K1 and Jetson TK1 DevKit let us quickly prototype and develop a product that exceeded our expectations," said June's Chief Technology Officer and co-founder Nikhil Bhogal.
You can pre-order this amazing smart oven for only $1,495 until July 10, 2015 at June's official website. It would cost $2,995 after the 2016 launch.
