Following confirmation that Michelle MacLaren was dropped from directing Warner Bros. "Wonder Woman" standalone film, new reports claim that she is now being eyed to helm the second (first of which will be directed by "Godzilla" diretor Gareth Edwards) of "Star Wars 7" spin off movie.
Apparently, "Fantastic Four" director Josh Trank, who exited the project due to "public scrutiny," will be replaced by MacLaren.
"I want to do something original after this because I've been living under public scrutiny, as you've seen, for the last four years of my life," he explained of his exit to Los Angeles Times. "And it's not healthy for me right now in my life. I want to do something that's below the radar."
Meanwhile Michelle MacLaren, whose work in "Game of Thrones" and "Breaking Bad" earned her praises from critics, has reportedly met with Disney and Lucas Film twice already.
The Wrap's Jeff Sneider claimed that the former "Wonder Woman" director, who left the project due to "creative differences" is most likely going to replace Josh Trank to direct "Star Wars 7" spin off movie.
Disney nor Michelle MacLaren have yet to comment on the said news.
"Iron Man" director Jon Favreau and "Kingsman: The Secret Service's" Matthew Vaughn are also being linked to the project.
In other "Star Wars 7" spin off news, Yahoo! Movies UK reported that the second of Disney's planned spin off movie will be about the rivalry of a younger Han Solo and the fan-favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett.
While not much has been revealed for the second "Star Wars 7" spin off movie, the first of which titled "Star Wars: Rogue One" is actively moving forward.
Slated for a Dec. 16, 2016 release date the film has reportedly cast "The Theory of Everything" star Felicity Jones in the line up.
