With the character of Elena played by Nina Dobrev now off "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7, fans can expect whole new changes in the lives of the characters, as well as darker and more tear-jerking love stories, as revealed by the creators of the hit series.
Co-creators Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson reportedly spoke at the 2015 ATX Television Festival and dished out details about the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7.
"Here's the deal. There are a lot of things going into it," Plec said in the report by the International Business Times. "One of the things we set out to do was tell a love story between two brothers and build up and ensemble around everybody."
The report also said the team, with Dobrev leaving the series, was able to think of ways for more opportunities to open up such as themes on "embracing family, finding family and reconnecting with family."
"This season the triangle of Elena may be off in the ether," Williamson said in the report. "But guess what, there is a lot of story to tell. A lot of great, emotional, tear jerking, epic, scary and thrilling story to tell... I think."
Plec announced on Twitter the writers for both "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 and its spinoff "The Originals" Season 3 are currently in session. The character of Lily Salvatore, the mother of the Salvatore brothers, is reportedly returning and is wreaking havoc in the season.
With new love stories expected to be seen on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7, Wetpaint hoped for the relationship between Damon and Bonnie, and Stefan and Caroline, to flourish in the upcoming season.
"Damon and Bonnie have so much chemistry together and we'd be cool with the show keeping them as BFFs, but it could also be kind of interesting to see them as something else? If this does go down, it's totally going to have a Buffy/Spike dynamic," the website said. "It'll (also) be fun and rewarding to see (Stefan and Caroline) as the two 'good guys' finish first in one another's hearts."
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 is returning this October on CW Network.
