Certainly, the last man on earth is no longer in solitary. The first season of the Fox comedy series starring Will Forte saw many colorful characters resurface and met Phil Miller who thought he is the last person in the world after a yet to be determined apocalypse.
The arrival of these new people did not do him well. He was kicked out of his own hometown but what's good about it is Carol (Kristen Schaal) decided to go with her.
There is not much "The Last Man on Earth" season 2 spoiler around. No casting news either. Is second season really just a two-some journey for Phil and Carol or will new survivors show up?
Talking to Deadline, Will Forte said they will not welcome too many new characters in "The Last Man on Earth" season 2. Except for Phil's long lost relative (to be played by Jason Sudeikis) who was unveiled in first season's finale, the current plan is to not overcrowd the cast line-up like last season.
"Well, I guess I don't want to give anything away. What we don't want to do is settle into a predictable character introduction pattern-we want to keep people guessing a little bit," Forte said when asked for some "The Last Man on Earth" season 2 spoiler.
"We definitely won't have the same number of character introductions next season, but there might be some people who get de-introduced, you know? You never know, we want to keep people guessing. We will just keep trying to find ways to make it fun and keep it lively. We always like trying to keep people on their toes. But I will say that Kristen Schaal is not going anywhere."
Before that, Forte talked about how excited he is for "The Last Man on Earth" season 2 and be able to apply the things he learned from their freshman year.
"This was truly an eye-opening experience and one that I'm delighted to have had, but I'm looking forward to this second season where I'm able to use some of those lessons from season one and really just have a smoother process."
"The Last Man on Earth" season 2 will likely air early next year.
