Do you feel like struggling sexually or wanting more dates? Try sending message using emoji as study shows it causes more sexual innuendos, and can be a reason for more dates.
Website Match.com reportedly conducted its annual Singles in America survey and found out that people who use emojis in text messages cause more sexual innuendos, giving them more active sex lives.
According to a report published by Time, Match.com conducted its annual Singles in America survey relating emojis and sexual innuendos, and gathered results after polling more than 5,000 respondents. They found that people who have more sex tend to send messages with emojis. The respondents were not representative of the national population, the report added.
Dr. Helen Fisher, one of the leaders of the study, told Time that 54 percent of emoji users had sex in 2014 compared to the 31 percent of single people who did not.
"Emoji users don't just have more sex, they go on more dates and they are two times more likely to want to get married," Dr. Fisher said in the report. "Sixty-two percent of emoji users want to get married compared to 30% of people who never used an emoji... that's pretty good."
However, a report by the Washington Post said the relationship between emojis and sexual innuendos cannot be established and therefore, requires more research.
"To be clear, though the survey did not establish any actual relationship between those two things, which would require a lot of research and careful methodology," the report said.
The Washington Post report also published theories why emojis and sexual innuendos were made to connect one another. The report said young people are more likely the ones to use emojis and young people have more sex.
"Guys, for heaven's sake, it's just an emoji. As Shirley Li laid out in a great piece for the Atlantic today, those it smilies sometimes mean something. But they often mean nothing at all," the report added.
