Ricky Hatton Still Can't Get Over The Moment Manny Pacquiao Knockout Deprived Him Of

| By

It has been six years since one of the greatest boxing knockout heard in the whole world happened. Ricky Hatton lost in the most horrible way to Manny Pacquiao on May 2 of 2009.

Even fans of the sport still cannot get over this fight. Some fans of the Filipino fighter even use this particular knockout to brag about Pacman's greatest accomplishment in the boxing ring.

It is understandable the world still cannot get over the Manny Pacquiao knockout on Floyd Mayweather Jr because even the person on the ugly end of the knockout haven't moved on from it.

The only difference is that what Hatton regrets about is the missed opportunity to have a moment with A-List Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

"Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted to come and meet me after the Pacquiao fight. They wanted to come in the changing room just to make sure I was ok," Hatton tells ESPN.

"I was walking towards my changing room but it was a horrendously bad knockout I suffered against Manny Pacquiao, so obviously my head was in other places. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were outside the changing room door and they said, 'Hey Ricky, how are you?'

"I went, 'Yeah not bad' and just walked past them. I didn't even notice them. How hard must I have been hit to ignore Angelina Jolie!"

Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao fought at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas in a well-hyped match for light welterweight division. It was the sixth weight category Pacman stepped into.

Interestingly, Hatton is undefeated in the said division. The British boxer was knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in the first round and was officially put into sleep in the second.

After the loss, Ricky Hatton never really recovered and decided to put his boxing career in hiatus. He is now officially retired and working as a boxing promoter.
