James (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are off to another land in the second season of "Outlander." The first season of the Starz TV series was spent mostly in Scotland but then the events leading to the finale forced the main characters to seek refuge in another territory, in France to be particular.
The couple is set for a new adventure, which means they are also set to meet new people. Just less than a month removed from the finale, several "Outlander" season 2 casting news are already out. The latest of which talks about probably the first teen listed for the show's sophomore run.
The Entertainment Weekly reported theater actress Rosie Day has been cast in the show as a child caught in the middle of tag-of-war for power between her elders. EW's "Outlander" season 2 casting news reads:
"EW can exclusively reveal that Rosie Day has joined Outlander's second season as Mary Hawkins, the daughter of a minor baronet and the niece of Silas Hawkins. Engaged to a member of the French nobility, Mary, who struggles with a nervous stammer, finds herself being used as a pawn in the power plays of her elders."
Although she is only 20 years old, the latest "Outlander" season 2 casting is a veteran in theater shows having appeared in "Les Miserables", "Summerfolk", "The Playboy of the Western World", and "Winter's Tale." As for television, she graced several BBC shows like "Siblings," "Homefront," "The Seasoning House," and more.
Previous "Outlander" season 2 casting news revealed Andrew Gower will join the show as Prince Charles Edward Stuart, along with Romann Berrux as Fergus. Charles Stuart is the young heir to the exiled Catholic royal dynasty who is eager to return to the throne.
Earlier "Outstanding" season 2 casting news also confirmed Stanley Weber and Robert Cavanagh will join the show. Weber will play Le Comte St. Germain, a member of the French Court while Cavanagh is Jared Fraser, Jamie's cousin and a strong Jacobite.
