'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3 Air Date Revealed; Skye's Father Set For Return?

| By

"Agents of SHIELD" season 3 air date is now set. ABC Network has revealed the premiere dates for its shows and for the Marvel-based series, fans will get to see the agents and inhumans in action again by September 29 from 9PM to 10PM before "Beyond Tank."

The network, however, did not mention release date for SHIELD's spinoff series "Agent Carter." Last year, "Agents of SHIELD" started its sophomore run on September 23 and before that, "Agent Carter" starring Hayley Atwell aired eight episodes.

What can fans expect when "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 air date comes? Does the plan still include Cal Zabo (Kyle Maclachlan), the father of Skye (Chloe Bennet) who was somehow able to redeem himself in the finale? There is no words yet from the showrunners and writers but for Maclachlan, he is open about the idea.

"There have been no conversations about it but I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility," the actor said in an interview with Zap2It. "We'll see."

Maclachlan also spoke about his experience playing Cal and the father of a 'different' creature.

"It's been an interesting up and down between 'Agents of SHIELD,' which was a dad with similar kind of care about his family, about his daughter in a completely different environment to ['Inside Out']. Then on to 'Twin Peaks' -- so there's been a real variety of things that I have been able to explore." he says says.

The second season ended with some member of the SHIELD deciding to do other things. However, according to executive producer Jeffrey Bell, the group led by Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) will remain intact.

"Our team is coming back. As we did after the first season, there were a lot of changes," Bell said in an interview with Comic Book Resources long before the revelation on "Agents of SHIEL" season 3 air date.

"Not too much in personnel, but in who they were and what roles they played. We introduced Henry [Simmons], Adrianne [Palicki] and Nick [Blood] this season, but everybody else has gone through some big changes. It's much more about how can we continue to make this show evolve episode-to-episode, season-to-season. The fact they managed to survive this year? Congratulations to all of them! Come on back, and let's see how next year goes."
