Selena Gomez and rumored boyfriend Zedd allegedly broke up because the songstress is still hooked on Justin Bieber. The two were romantically linked when they were working on the DJ's new song "I Want You To Know." However, there have been sightings of the 22-year-old American singer and the 21-year-old Canadian pop star while she was rumored to be dating the 25-year-old Russian music producer.
"Zedd just felt like he would always be number two in Selena's life. He felt like he never really had her heart 100 percent," an insider revealed to Hollywood Life. "She would never admit that she's still in love with Justin, but that's how Zedd feels."
A few months after the Selena Gomez and Zedd breakup rumors surfaced, Diplo admitted during an interview that the two never became a couple. The 36-year-old DJ revealed to Radio.com that Zedd was molded into a money-maker for a major EDM label.
"I'm actually not enemies with Zedd by any means," Diplo explained. "But they've pegged him for that, they've marketed him, even the fake relationship with Selena Gomez, all the things to sell records took away from the music."
Some people agree with what the "Revolution" hitmaker claimed. "Diplo is speaking sort of the truth," sources told Hollywood Life. "It started out as just a friendship, but it turned into something that they wanted to make work." Unfortunately, Selena Gomez and Zedd's relationship didn't work out because of Justin Bieber.
There were reports coming out that Katy Perry's rumored ex-boyfriend was bashing Zedd because he is good friends with the "Baby" singer. Diplo tried to clarify why he has a photo with Justin inside the recording studio. "That was just me getting on Shots, that app he has," he explained. "I said I wasn't going to get on Shots until I got my first photos with him."
The DJ admitted that he felt like he owes the Bieber because he was partly responsible for the success of his new track "Where Are Ü Now." "I've known him [Justin Bieber] for six years through Usher, and I've always kept it really cool with him and his whole squad," Diplo confessed. According to the website, Zedd was a bit disturbed by what Diplo did to him while Selena Gomez allegedly doesn't really care since she's used to hearing people talk crap about her.
