Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Release Date In September At IFA 2015? Korean Flagship Phablet’s S-Pen To Get Auto-Eject Feature?

| By

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 release date hasn't been confirmed yet but it looks like the upcoming Korean flagship phablet will be unveiled on September at IFA 2015.

During Samsung's investor call, the company's executive vice president Rhee In Jong said that Samsung Pay, the Korean tech firm's new payment service, will debut on a "high-end mobile device." Although the Galaxy Note 5 wasn't mentioned specifically, Forbes thinks it is the device that was referenced by the exec.

"Samsung Pay was originally supposed to launch in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in July," the article said.

It will reportedly compete against Apple Pay, Android Pay by Google and PayPal.

A Tech Times report further speculated that "the phablet will be revealed at the IFA Berlin, which kicks [off] on [September] 4 this year."

The event has served as the venue for the launch of a new Galaxy Note device since 2011.

But the Galaxy Note 4's successor won't be the only device Samsung will launch at the event. Franchise Herald reported that the Gear A smartwatch will also debut on the same event.

With the alleged release date still a few months away, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is shaping up to be a not-so-ordinary device. It will allegedly come with a new nifty feature. Patently Mobile picked up on Samsung's approved patent for "an automatically ejectable input touch pen system."

TechRadar reported that the feature, called Auto Project, "will automatically eject the stylus from the body of the device when you want to use it." Both Note 5 and S-pen stylus reportedly use magnets to keep the latter in place. However, the stylus' magnet can reverse polarity allowing it to be ejected from the device.

What's interesting is how the feature can be activated. Users can eject the S-pen stylus via voice command or gesture.

Stay tuned as we keep you posted on the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 5 news in the months leading up to its release date.
