"Thomas Sharpe has, and he's not the only character in the film, but he has a history and I suppose the interesting thing about the film, the story, is it's about the difference between expectation and reality and each character is sort of projecting certain things," he shared.
According to the British star, the characters in the film are all "projecting onto each other and have certain expectations of who the other might be". When their masks start coming off, then "a very different picture" will be revealed.
"[A]nd that might be where the kink emerges. Without spoiling things too much," the 34-year-old said.
