Unfortunately, PS4 release date for "Dead Island 2" is not going to happen this summer.
Instead, Deep Silver opted to launch the post apocalyptic game on September, iDigital Times reported.
The gaming company however did not provide an explanation as to why they had to delay the release date.
Deep Silver's senior programmer, Isaac Ashdown, on the other hand has teased "Dead Island 2" fans of the game's possible plot in an interview with Red Bull.
"The trailer definitely matches the tone we're going for," Ashdown explained. "It's a kind of lighthearted take on what would happen if a zombie apocalypse came to California, and all the people who stayed behind saw it as an opportunity for a new way of life."
However, he admitted that the original game failed to provie a more realistic feel of the post apocalyptic game, something that they plan to change for the sequel.
"When you looked at the first game and the tone of the trailer, and then at how people were playing it, there was a kind of disconnect," he explained. "There was a disconnect between what the game was trying to get them to feel, and what they were actually doing. So we've gone the direction of creating a game with a tone that matches how people actually played."
"Dead Island 2" have been previously teased at Sony's E3 last year,
"Several months after the events on Banoi, the United States military has put the Golden State under full quarantine," it stated.
