Marc Gasol To Leave Memphis Grizzlies? All-Star Center Speaks About His Plan For NBA Free Agency

| By

Marc Gasol is one of the most skilled men in the NBA. When free agency hits, he will instantly become a target for many clubs.

Now, the question is, does he want to leave Memphis which has been his home for more than one decade? Is there a chance for other big time clubs to get the services of the All-Star Memphis Grizzlies center.

In an interview with a Spanish radio station while in Spain, the 30-year old Memphis Grizzlies star said his team is still on top of his list for his future home.

"The reality for me at the moment is Memphis," said Marc Gasol who is the brother of two-time NBA champion Pau. "I got there when I was 16 and I'm 30 years old. It's important for me, personally and in sports terms. I'm in front of an important decision for the upcoming 4 or 5 years. I'll take it quietly, without drama. There are many things to evaluate: personal goals, the ring..."

Marc Gasol also compared his free agency situation to his brother Pau before the latter moved to Chicago Bulls. He said the former Los Angeles Lakers star was forced to look for new clubs because he has other needs while he does not have not much to look for right now.

"The city isn't so important like it was in Pau's case," continued Gasol in the interview. "My brother had other needs. People with sons knows how this works. I don't have time to go to the opera, or to the theater. New York is nice but it was very cold during the All Star Game. San Antonio, L.A, Atlanta... there's good things everywhere. I have a simple life: at home, the arena, the supermarket. Memphis is quiet. In Fort Yukon, Alaska, I would also be happy".

Several teams have been linked to Marc Gasol over the past few days. Among them are big teams who are looking to continue contending for titles like Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Dallas Mavericks.
