While there have been very few details about the progress of Brad Pitt's "World War Z" sequel, the upcoming post apocalyptic movie is reportedly going to have a "clean slate" as it deviates from Max Brook's best selling novel.
Sequel writer Steven Knight, who has gained praises from his work on "Peaky Binders" TV series talked to Indie Wire, and discuss the progress of "World War Z" sequel.
"I thought, 'Why not? What fun,'" he said of working on the sequel. "It's not quite like the other, we're starting with clean slate. When they've signed off we're on."
While he did not say more about when the film will be released or when will the production start, his statement immediately sparked rumors that he is indeed going to steer clear away from the novel.
Screen Rant on the other hand claimed that the prodution will actually start in October.
Following claims that Brad Pitt and director Marc Forster had a rift while filming the first "World War Z" movie, the award winning actor then reportedly asked "The Impossible" helmer Juan Antonio Bayona to replace Forster.
"Things got so bad that when Forster had notes on a scene for Pitt, they had to be relayed through an intermediary - and vice versa," Vulture previously reported of Forster and Pitt's feud.
Adding, "Ironically, Pitt, whose company, Plan B, is producing 'World War Z,' originally fought for Forster to be given the director's chair on World War Z."
While Brad Pitt is sure to reprise his role for the sequel, other cast members have yet to be named.
