Justin Timberlake has written an open letter and posted it on his website in which he apologizes for the controversial video featuring homeless people congratulating him and Jessica Biel on their nuptials.
Justin apologized in an open letter on his website to "clear the air," calling the video that surfaced on the web, in which real homeless people offer Justin their well-wishes for his wedding, a "lapse in judgment."
"I am deeply sorry to anyone who was offended," he wrote. "I was always taught that we as people, no matter what your race, sex, or stature may be, are equal."
Justin continued, "My friends are good people. This was clearly a lapse in judgment, which I'm sure no one who is reading this is exempt from. But, I don't believe it was made to be insensitive... I think we can all agree that it was distasteful."
Timberlake, 31, and Biel, 30, married in Italy this week. Mail Online reported that Timberlake's friend, real estate agent Justin Huchel, made the video. It depicts homeless people stating that they were friends with the couple and unable to make it to the ceremony.
Timberlake has denied knowledge of the video and that it was not presented at the wedding.
Timberlake ended the letter with, "You can bet your ass that I'm having my friend do at least 100 hours of community service."
TMZ reported that the video hit the Internet this week. The site also tracked down one of the people who appeared in the video. That person claimed to have been offered $40 to appear in it.
