Will Square Enix finally announced the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" at E3 2015?
Design & Trend reported that the giant gaming studio is expected to make the big announcement during the highly anticipated Electronics Conference on June 16 to 18.
And while fans were worried about the game's transition from Luminous to Unreal Engine 4, co-director and game designer Tai Yasue assures fans of the shift, thus a release date is expected either this year of the next.
"The technology is moving forward a lot," the game designer explained of the switch from Luminous to Unreal Engine according to Eurogamer. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."
Meanwhile, there have been rumors claiming that since "Kingdom Hearts" relies heavily with Disney characters, "Star Wars" and "Marvel" characters are said to be included in the upcoming game.
And while Square Enix has yet to confirm or deny the rumors, Motoring Crunch is certain that it will at least feature the weapons of the characters from the said movies.
"Even if the likes of Captain America and Obi Wan Kenobi don't make it into Kingdom Hearts 3, we feel that Square Enix might introduce the weapons from the aforementioned worlds," the gaming publication mentioned.
Adding that Sora would "get the ability to wield a light saber," while Goofy could be getting added boost in its defense with the help of Captain America's shield.
And if Square Enix decides not to announce the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" at E3 2015, the gaming studio would most likely make the announcement at D23 Expo in Japan before the year ends.
"We have some interesting things planned," Tetsuya Nomura explained. "There will be Kingdom Hearts 3 news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts 3 is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order."
