Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy have split after a few months of dating but are reportedly still friends.
The 22-year-old Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter has broken up with her 18-year-old boyfriend, the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, Us Weekly reports.
"They quietly parted ways a while ago," a source tells the magazine. "It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine."
The singer/songwriter has been incredibly busy with her new album, so that breakup theory seems likely.
"It's been over a month since they've even seen each other," the friend explains. "With her promotion for Red, she has no time off until the end of the year."
The couple began dating this summer, and their relationship quickly progressed. They were spotted around the Kennedy family home in Hyannis Port, Mass., throughout the summer kissing and spending time with his family.
According to recent reports, Swift was so in awe of the Kennedy clan that she sought matriarch Ethel's approval before dating Conor.
"Taylor is enthralled with Ethel and has been for a long time," a Kennedy family source told the Daily News. "When she and Conor first got together over, Taylor couldn't have been more respectful."
Meanwhile, Swift debuted her new album, "Red," earlier this week. The album is full of songs about her past exes - a collection of Hollywood men that includes Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal. She celebrated the album with a performance in Times Square on "Good Morning America" Tuesday. She is also set to perform her new single "Begin Again" live on the CMA Awards Nov. 1.
