In the past days, Jason Statham - "Daredevil" tie up emerged with "The Transporter" star reportedly lined-up for the role of Bullseye.
However, in the latest interview with the British actor, it seems the partnership will no longer materialize.
In an interview with I 400 Calci, Statham, who is promoting his new film "Spy" that also stars Melissa McCarthy, said he has no ambition in appearing in modern films like the ones Marvel is producing. He even dissed the company for how stunts became easier to do.
"I could take my grandma, and put her in a cape and then put her in a green screen and then have stunt doubles come in and do all the action -- anybody can do it," Statham told the website just days after the Jason Statham - "Daredevil" rumors surfaced. "They're relying on stunt doubles and green screen and $200 million budget. It's all CGI-created. To me, that is not authentic."
Jason Statham has been very frank about his desire to play Daredevil in a project. Right now, the comic book character is played Charlie Cox in a Marvel TV series that is connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
So when the rumors spread he is being targeted to play Bullseye who has some resemblance with him, the comic book world went frenzy.
Jason Statham - "Daredevil" tie up/possible appearance was first reported by Latino Review:
"According to a trusted source at Marvel's new TV production offices, Jason Statham - star of The Transporter film franchise, this year's Furious 7, and this summer's action comedy Spy - is being pursued to play Bullseye in season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil Netflix series. It is not yet confirmed as reps would not give me a call back.
This isn't Statham's first dance with Daredevil. Just before the rights for the character reverted back to Marvel, he was said to be in talks to appear in a cinematic reboot that 20th Century Fox was trying to get off the ground."
Will Jason Statham - "Daredevil" appearance ever happen?
