According to Mirror, Ed Sheeran is reportedly looking for a new girlfriend barely two months after splitting with his food production ex, Athina Andrelos. Or at least, his friends are.
The 24-year-old world star looked devastated when he broke the news to an Australian radio station in March. However, it seems that his friends are egging him to look for a replacement already.
The gossip site revealed via a supposed insider that the "Thinking Out Loud" singer's friends weren't really fans of his former flame.
"Ed's mates weren't too keen on Athina and weren't disappointed when they split after the Brit Awards. It's very unlikely they'll be getting back together," the source revealed. "His friends want to set him up with a new girl and have their eye on a few people they've mentioned to him but he's very picky for obvious reasons."
Ed Sheeran's new girlfriend has to be someone who wouldn't see him as the global star that he is. The "Lego House" star, after all, is well-known for being humble and humorous.
The Grammy-nominated singer previously told Entertainment Weekly that he doesn't really "date people in my sphere" even though he had been romantically linked to Ellie Goulding, Barbara Palvin and even Taylor Swift.
"Ed doesn't want a famous girlfriend, he just wants someone down to earth and normal to share his life with," the source reportedly continued.
Does this mean then that his BFF Taylor Swift can't help him out in this department?
Back when the megastar was still single, Sheeran reportedly set him up with his handsome friends. Although it's unclear if Calvin Harris was one of them, Swift could still help make one of her own friends become Ed Sheeran's new girlfriend.
But then, the "Bad Blood" singer is well-known for having a celebrity-filled circle of friends. Either way, Swift wouldn't have a problem with introducing Sheeran to her "normal" friends instead.
