Gamers of new generation Play Station console have yet to experience the hit game "God of War" as it has yet to be made available for PS4.
Thus, fans' growing excitement with "God of War" 4 release date continues.
There have been reports claiming that Santa Monica Studios will finally be announcing the release date for the said game come E3 2015. And while that's remained to be seen, the giant studio company has already announced that a "God of War 3" remastered version is coming.
However, the announcement of "GOW 3" remastered version for PS4 is apparently not enough according to Bidness ETC. Sony reportedly needs to bring bigger titles to its console following the delays of "Uncharted 4."
The source added that Sony, "despite the success the PS4 has achieved in its first 18 months, it still lacks some killer exclusive titles."
Meanwhile, according Cross Map "God of War 4" will most likely be released in between 2017 and 2018 instead.
In an interview with PlayStation Blog, head writer Cory Barlog explained that before anything else the focus of the studio is to bring "God of War 3" remastered version to PS4 console and that will happen on July 14.
"Imagine if a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right," Barlog explained. "Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCEA (or Santa Monica Studio) we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War III Remastered is here!"
Contrary to Bidness ETC, Barlog believes that bringing in a "GOW 3" remastered version before launching "God of War 4" to PS4 would be highly beneficial to the gaming franchise. It's said to open doors to the players who have yet to experience the third-person shooting game.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4," he said in the post. "People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
In addition to "God of War 4" release date news, Movie Pilot reported that the fourth installment of the game could introduce a new mythological creature that would most likely keep Kratos out of the game.
