Adele, the British Grammy-winning, chart-topping singer welcomed a healthy baby boy on Friday, according to reports.
The report originated out of the singer's native U.K., and People.com confirmed the report with a source telling the site, "We are all over the moon." There had been some speculation over the summer that the singer would give birth in September. She has remained relatively low key since announcing her pregnancy earlier this year.
In June, Adele, 24, posted a message on her web site announcing that she was expecting a baby with her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, 38.
"Obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time," she wrote.
Adele, and boyfriend Simon Konecki, started dating last year, and she announced her pregnancy in June 2011. The new baby boy makes a first child for Adele. Konecki has a 5-year-old daughter from a former marriage.
An insider told Us Weekly this new bundle of joy will help provide a sunnier tone to her new music, in contrast to the darker, breakup-themed "21."
"The pregnancy has had a big impact on her songwriting," the insider says, and adds that wedding bells may be next for the singer.
More than anything, the source says, ""she wants to be a wife and mom."
Adele has been in the headlines in recent weeks for singing the theme tune to the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall". She also co-wrote the track with collaborator Paul Epworth.
