Boxing Hall Of Fame Member Blames Floyd Mayweather Jr Why Fight With Manny Pacquiao Underwhelmed

| By

The Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight, held last May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena, generally underwhelmed.

The face-off, dubbed as the Fight of the Century, was won by the American fighter but the reception of his victory was not that good. Most people think there were more running than punching in the 12-round fight between the two. As to who should be blamed for that lackluster performance, the two camps are just pointing fingers towards each other.

For a Boxing Hall of Fame member, the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight indeed disappoint many and the one that should be blamed for it is Floyd Jr.

"Absolutely fans should be disappointed. A friend of mine had an event, we had four couples, he had a screening room and we watched it on the big screen. My wife was snoring from the fourth round on, literally, we were laughing. We look over to my friend's wife and she was sleeping. What does that say? That's all you need to know, it was that type of fight," said Ray Mancini, a former world lightweight champion who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame this year.

Mancini is so disappointed with Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight he has to thank God no one invited him to see it.

"We know what type of fight he's (Mayweather) gonna do, we know he's not gonna engage - he hasn't engaged with a fighter in over ten years. He's not gonna put it on the line, he's gonna slap you around from the outside as long as can and get away with a victory. Great, but that's not pay-per-view to me," said Mancini.

It has been almost one month since the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight but the distaste of people still lingers.

Will their view stay the same once the rematch gets a green light. Better question, is the public really interested about a rematch between the two after seeing what went on in the first one?
