Xiaomi Mi 5 has been in the rumor mill for quite some time last year, and making its rounds over the internet again with its new leaked specs.
If the rumors are to be believed, the upcoming flagship from the Chinese tech firm will be the most promising Android phone this year that could go on a head-to-head battle with the Samsung Galaxy S6 or with other flagships from giant phone manufacturers.
According to GSM Arena the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be the first smartphone to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 which 'ill support Sense ID - a fingerprint sensor technology that relies on ultrasound rather than optics.'
"Earlier rumors already suggested that a fingerprint sensor will be a part of the feature list, but back then it was an optical sensor. Ultrasound sensors are said to be more resilient against dirt and water on the finger," GSM Arena wrote.
The processor will be paired up with a 4GB of RAM and an onboard storage of either a 16GB or 128GB
As for its display, it pulls out a bigger screen of 5.5-inches that might come with a QHD display, while its design is excpected to "reduce its thickness and drop to a slim 5.1mm frame."
In addition its camera might keep a 16MP OIS camera on its rear and 8MP selfie camera and may or may not have a USB Type C connector like on the alleged Microsoft Windows 10 based phone Lumia 940.
Meanwhile, now that the Android M is finally official the Xiaomi Mi 5 has been previously reported that it will run on Android 5.1 as it partnered with Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) team for its upcoming MIUI 7 custom user interface based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, which will debut on the Xiaomi Mi5.
