'Gotham' Season 2 Spoiler: Robin Lord Taylor Teases Penguin's Story Arc And Confirms Upcoming New Villains

| By

It is pretty too early to ask for "Gotham" season 2 spoilers. The Fox TV series about the famous Batman city before the caped crusader was born has just aired its finale last May 4.

However, at the Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con, Robin Lord Taylor gladly shared some tidbits about what to expect from his character Oswald Cobblepot.

In the first season, Oswald, who is also known as The Penguin, triumphantly became the king of Gotham after the explosive finale. He was able to put away former boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) who killed Maroni during their face-off. Don Falcone, on the other hand, decided to step away from criminal activities. In the second season, Cobblepot will have free rein in Gotham underground.

"That's going to be his huge challenge," Taylor said when asked for "Gotham" season 2 spoiler regarding his character. "His whole focus has been on getting to this point. I don't know how prepared he is maintaining that. When you're at the top in Gotham City, you have a giant target on your back. whether you're on the good side of things or if you're on the bad side of things. That's the thing about Gotham City: when you make your way to the top, there's always someone there to bring you down."

According to earlier "Gotham" season 2 spoilers, there will be new villains coming in the city. These new bad guys could either be Oswald's ally or enemy as in the comics, Penguin is not really popular among criminals. Of course, detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will still be on Oswald tails come the second season to upheld the law.

Speaking of villains, Taylor also confirmed two famous Batman villains will join the show.

"I know two villains specifically for next season: Mr. Freeze and Mad Hatter are both coming to Gotham. I'm excited about that," Taylor said.
