It is almost a month now since the disappointing Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight happened. Still, the camp of Pacman, who ended up as the loser, can't get over the result.
Floyd won via unanimous decision in their match to keep his clean record. His Filipino counterpart now sport a 57-8 win-loss record. For Pacman's trainer Freddie Roach, it is alright if his guy lost in the Fight of the Century because the better fraction of the world believes Pretty Boy lost.
"Most of the people and the fans told me we got robbed, then the next day at the airport 99% of the people told me that we won the fight," Roach told boxingscene.com when asked about his thoughts about the recently held Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight.
"I haven't rewatched it yet so I can't tell you what I think yet, but after the fight I was like hmmmm... I think it could go either way."
Roach recognizes that Manny Pacquiao under-performed in fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Still, he rues Mayweather's decision to run most of the time.
"I thought he could have thrown more flurries like we had planned to," said Roach.
"I think he was working very well. We were out-punching Mayweather. The thing is, Mayweather did run a lot."
The overall reaction on the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight was not really positive. While Pacman's camp blame it to Pretty Boy's running and dodging, the American fighter says it is Pacman who should be blamed.
In an interview with SiriusXM Radio earlier this month, Floyd Mayweather Jr said he only did what he was supposed to do.
"It's not my fault that I was able to alleviate anything that he was trying to do. What I did was whatever your best attribute is, I take it away from you, I disarm you, and that's what I do," Mayweather told SiriusXM radio.
"If people want to be upset, be upset with the guy that couldn't set the trap for Floyd Mayweather. Be upset with the guy that used to throw 1000 punches but then resorted to throwing 400 punches. Please don't be mad at me. I'm the winner. I done what I had to do, so, you know, Pacquiao, I wish you nothing but the best, keep up the good work. We did what we had to do. I was the better man."
