Ignorance of the law is not an excuse and that's something Johnny Depp should have kept in mind when he decided to bring his dogs into Australia.
The 51-year-old actor is filming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" in the Gold Coast but he had to go back to the United States to undergo surgery for his injured hand.
When he got back to the Land Down Under, he brought along his two dogs named Boo and Pistol not knowing that he already broke the country's quarantine laws. According to E! Online, Depp could go to jail for ten years or pay the fine of $265,000.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the Hollywood superstar, the flight crew and his fellow passengers are facing ongoing investigations for not declaring the presence of the Yorkshire Terriers. The dogs were discovered when they were taken to a groomer and photos were shared online.
"A celebrity brought their dogs in to be pampered. The dogs were duly pampered and that pampering was put onto social media," described Senator Richard Colbeck.
Apart from Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's dogs, another American woman sneaked in her pooch that was placed in her handbag.
The Minister of Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, ordered the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star to fly the dogs out of Australia or they will be euthanized.
"There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them," the minister told ABC radio.
"But if we start letting movie stars-even though they've been the Sexiest Man Alive twice - to come into our nation [and break the laws], then why don't we just break the laws for everybody?" Joyce added. Apart from dealing with the Australian law, Johnny is also rumored to be facing marital problems.
According to Star Magazine, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are always getting into a fight and are just pretending to be fine.
"The couple is trying to appear happy by parading around hand-in-hand for the locals, but an on-set source says they couldn't be any further from the truth," their source said.
Despite the breakup rumors, the couple remained to be together and was even spotted arriving in the US a week after their pooches were brought back to the country. According to Mail Online, the actor and his wife appeared in great spirits as they spotted their Yorkshire Terriers, Boo and Pistol waiting for them on the tarmac.
