Xiaomi India has been reportedly rolling out the OTA update for the Xiaomi Mi 4i to address overheating issues.
"The update is now available for download and is 40MB in size. You can download the OTA update through the Updater app on your Mi 4i," GSM Arena reported.
In a recent interview Hugo Barra said that aside from the overheating issues it will also bring additional bug fixes and optimization.
"The new thermal controls adjust frequency, voltage and the number of cores in use depending on the chipset temperature. In all of our internal testing and pre-OTA release in the MIUI Forum and beta testers, we've observed that these changes reduce the device overall temperature without impacting performance," Hugo Barra said.
Meanwhlie, Jai Mani, Lead Product Manager at Mi India explained to Technology Personalized about the new thermal controls on the latest update.
"We've heard from some Mi 4i users that their devices can get warm under strenuous conditions such as complex 3D gaming and benchmarking apps." (via Tech First Post)

As we can recall, last week Xiaomi cancelled its OTA update (V6.5.4.0 LXI) due to overheating issues experienced by users and announced that a new OTA update arrives next week. (via Xiaomi blog post)
"As many people are not able to upgrade to V6.5.4.0,The reasion is that The previous OTA Update (V6.5.4.0 LXI) has been suspended.
So the Good News : New OTA Update is coming next week which will be V6.5.5.0 ," Xiaomi wrote on its official blog.
"So all the people who are facing issues, Please wait till this OTA update arrives and let us know then after updating if you are still facing that issue!"
As for the prospect buyers of the Xiaomi Mi 4i, it can purchased on Flipkart without registration until today priced at Rs.12,999.
