Upcoming Sony Xperia 2015 Phones: Xperia Z4 Arrives In The Global Market As Z3+, Packs A Powerful Snapdragon 810 Chipset

Sony's Xperia Z4 which was first reported as a Japan exclusive will be available in different regions in June.

The latest flagship will hit the global market as Sony Xperia Z3+ and "same incremental upgrade over" of the Xperia Z3, GSM Arena reported.

Sony in an official statement explains further the name change of the Xperia Z4 in the global market.

"The main reason for the name difference here is down to Sony being such a dominant force in the Japanese market [where] consumers crave flagship devices with the latest features as soon as they can be delivered," Sony explained.

"Xperia Z3 continues to perform well as our flagship device across the rest of the world. To address those customers that would like to have the very latest features and refinements, we have introduced Xperia Z3+ as a premium addition to our existing flagship Z3 series."(via The Inquirer)

The Xperia Z3+ comes with a few upgrade of the Z3 series. In terms of its design, it retains the IP65/IP68 certification but the speakers has been moved to the edges of the front panel.

It sports a 5.2-inch 1080p TRILUMINOUS display and measures 146 x 72 x 6.9 mm. Thus, it is slimmer than the Sony Xperia Z3 the battery has been watered down to 2,930mAh compared to the 3,100mAh of the previous model.

But Sony claims that its batter can still last up to 2 days. (via GSM Arena)

Specs-wise, it is powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset with Adreno 430 graphics, and there's 3GB of RAM and a 32GB of onboard storage.

As for the camera, there's a minimal changes on it as it carries the same 20.7MP Sony Exmor sensor with a 25mm-equivalent f2.0 lens while it has a 5MP front camera with a wide-angle 25mm glass.

Meanwhile, it's pricing has yet to revealed before its official launch in June.
