'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 3 Spoiler: Returning Guest Stars Revealed By Series Co-Creator Dan Goor

| By

The finale of the second season of Fox TV series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" ended with at least two main characters set to leave the 99 precinct. It also teased better relationship between Jake Peralta (Andy Sambergh) and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) who for the first time shared not just one, not two, but three kisses in the finale.

The first two were part of their cover to catch a criminal but the third one was an indication that somehow, Amy realized he likes Jake, too.

The core of the cast is pretty much intact for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3. It is not just Jake, Amy, Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), Terry Jefford (Terry Crews), and Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Trugilo) fans can expect to see in the show's third season run, even some guest stars who made a mark in their short appearance in the show.

"The people we're really 100 percent hoping to get back are Craig Robinson [the Pontiac Bandit], and Boyle and [Gina] Linetti's parents, Sandra Bernhard and Stephen Root," series creator Dan Goor said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter shortly after the "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season finale.

He added they will take a page from another successful comedy series, "Parks and Recreations."

"We take a page from Parks and Rec, who took a page from The Simpsons, which is that once somebody is in our world, we like for them to stay in our world, and we want to see them as much as possible. Any one of our characters can come back as long as they are still alive."

As for that emotional "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 finale ending involving Captain Holt (Andrew Braugher) and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti) telling their workmates they will leave the office, don't worry because they are not really saying goodbye from the show. On the same interview, Goor said it will be a crime to let those two go.

"If we got rid of them, Fox would have the right to call the police, handcuff us, and throw us off of cliffs, he said.

"They are critical, wonderful castmembers who are incredibly funny. They are still regulars and we will be following them. The idea behind Gina going with Holt was to make it as clear as possible that Holt was not leaving the show, but they will be leaving the Nine-Nine for the beginning of the season. You'll see a new captain of the Nine-Nine and you'll see Holt and Gina in their new jobs."
