The first season of "The Flash" may have ended but the bosses of CW Network's hit superhero series were kind enough to provide information on what to expect when it returns.
Recent "The Flash" spoiler news talked about the show's bigger sophomore run featuring Earth-2, digging deep in the Flash's Rogues gallery, and the return of killed off characters.
One of the biggest elements in the show is time travel. With the way it ended its freshman season, how fat the characters will be from where it left off come "The Flash" season 2?
According to "The Flash" season 2 spoiler executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shared to Entertainment Weekly, there is no plan yet how the second season will start. He does assure though that some questions will be answered on "The Flash" season 2 premiere.
"We're mapping out the season," Kreisberg said when asked how "The Flash" season 2 will pick up.
"The circumstances in which we come back will hopefully be surprising and entertaining. There are a bunch of questions that were left unresolved at the end of the season and they'll be resolved in the premiere. But how that happens won't quite be the way people expect. Hopefully the unexpected is what people have come to expect from us."
As fans can recall, Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher and Tom Cavanagh) has been erased from existence after their kin from the past, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) decided to kill himself. However, Eddie's job was not completed as a singularity opened, forcing Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) to run to the hole. The show faded with the Scarlet Speedster reaching the core of the black hole.
Kreisberg said this singularity will have long-term effects, including the opening of new timelines.
"We established in the finale that the entire series of The Flash is, in itself, an alternate timeline that's been skewed from the real one. Wells setting off the accelerator created all the metahumans, and the results of the singularity will also have long-term effects."
