Fans were saddened when the key characters in "Heroes" opted not to join the "Heroes Reborn" cast.
Thankfully, some of the original cast have signed on to reprise their roles alongside the new characters.
According to Entertainment Weekly, fans will get to see another familiar face in the 13-episode miniseries!
Greg Grunberg, who played Matt Parkman, will be back for the show but will keep a "guest star arc". Parkman was an unsatisfied cop who used his ability of reading people's minds to solve cases. Later on, his powers evolved to mind control and manipulation.
"Well, you know, it'd be great to use that cop character as an investigative tool to find new people with power," he previously said in One Question Interviews with Rick Yaeger last year, adding that he can be a part of the new show, he "would jump at the chance."
"I think the fans or whoever was watching the show before, which was the world, really wants closure. I don't know how they would do this without using some of the main characters. I hope that they include me," he previously said.
While Grunberg's interview mentioned that the original cast got hyped up after hearing the news, not all of them were too eager to join the "Heroes Reborn" cast.
Key characters of the 2010 series, Milo Ventimiglia (Peter Petrelli), Hayden Panettiere (Claire Bennett) and Zachary Quinto (Sylar) all decided not to reprise their roles in Tim Kring's reboot of the cult classic.
On the other hand, Jack Coleman (Noah Bennett), Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) and Jimmy Jean-Louis (The Haitian) will be coming back to bring their old roles back to life.
Tim Kring's reboot will be premiering this Fall and is scheduled to air every Thursday. NBC recently released a set of stills of the new "Heroes Reborn" cast featuring Noah Bennett (Coleman) as well as new characters including possible new villain Luke Collins (Zachary Levi) and Miko Otomo (Kiki Sukezane).
