Even before "The Flash" finale aired, one questions many fans have in mind is, will Barry Allen sacrifice everything that is going on in the present to be able to save his mom?
This scenario is based on the famous comic book issue "Flashpoint Paradox" which has also been adapted into an animated film. The finale aired and as those who have seen it, they probably know by now that the finale took a different route.
The Scarlet Speedster traveled back in time but he chose not to save her mom from Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher).
While "The Flash" finale saw Barry Allen allowed the past to go on as it is, it seems there will be major changes in the present and in the future after two characters died, Eddie and Eobard Thawne.
Eddie died, Reverse Flash was erased in existence. Does that mean everything Eobard worked on in the present will also vanish like Flash's powers, metahumans, and Cisco and Caitlin? What will happen in "The Flash" season 2?
When asked by Entertainment Weekly if time will be altered, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said anything can happen.
"When you open a singularity above a city, you should be worried about anything and everything that happens," Kreisberg said in an interview shortly after "The Flash" finale.
"Part of the fun of The Flash is when you have people dabbling in sci-fi physics, they're significantly altering the world. We established in the finale that the entire series of The Flash is, in itself, an alternate timeline that's been skewed from the real one. Wells setting off the accelerator created all the metahumans, and the results of the singularity will also have long-term effects."
Kreisberg also teased that in "The Flash" season 2, followers will see more speedsters. Jay Garrick is someone the show has foreshadowed in the finale. Also expected in the sophomore run are more villains, crossovers with "Arrow" and "Legends of Tomorrow" and possibly the return of the real Harrison Wells after Kreisberg said Tom Cavanagh will remain a series regular.
