Kevin Durant return is something many basketball fans and other clubs eagerly await. Not only because he is a fierce competitor that makes the game better but also because he is one of the most in demand name in the upcoming 2016 free agency.
The Oklahoma City Thunder has been out since February of this year due to a right foot injury. But of course, that is not enough reason for some teams to not pursue the one-time NBA MVP.
A report by the Daily Oklahoman quoted OK GM Sam Presti regarding Kevin Durant's return.
"'We're not at a weight-bearing stage, but we're definitely moving in the right direction and excited about him being back on the floor toward the end of the summer.'"
Before that, KD told a Twitter user he could be by back by August 1.
When Kevin Durant returns, expect teams to gang up on him, asking for his services. Right now, many team names are being dragged into Kevin Durant trade rumors. One of them is the Golden State Warriors who are still in contention for the NBA championship trophy.
Mychal Thompson on 710 ESPN said, "I also heard it on good authority from a team that plays in the Bay Area that they're going to go hard after Kevin Durant."
Another team constantly being linked to Kevin Durant trade rumors is Washington Wizards. With Paul Pierce suggesting he might retire next season, several writers are linking the OKC shooting to the club from DC where he grew up.
"I don't know if I'm even going to play basketball anymore. These seasons gets harder and harder the older you get," said Pierce, via the Washington Post. "It's tough rolling out of that bed every year, every day. Summers get even harder when you start getting back in shape. I'm 37 years old. ... It's a lot of things I'll talk to my family about and just figure out from there. I love my time in Washington. It's a lot to think about right now."
