Real Madrid fans must prepare themselves for a terrible Iker Casillas news in the coming days or weeks. The long time keeper of one of Spain's winningest football club might leave for another team.
It is either because he wants to or the management does not want him anymore.
Skyports pundit Guillem Balague shared an Iker Casillas news yesterday but it is not something fans might like. According to Balague, Casillas was believed to have been informed that one way or the other, he will not be used anymore in the club as they are prepared to do everything to sign a younger goalkeeper in David de Gea of Manchester United.
"Real told Casillas in a meeting on Tuesday that they want him to stay but that they are also going to buy another goalkeeper this summer, so the ball is in the goalkeeper's court," Balague told Sky Sports.
"If he wants to stay then he knows what the situation will be next season - when he could find himself on the substitutes' bench. However, if he wants to leave, then the door is open for him as well."
Ballague also revealed that Casillas' last match at Real Madrid's homefield might be the one vs Getafe this weekend.
"[Coach] Carlo Ancelotti asked Casillas which of the club's final two league games he wanted to play in - away at Espanyol last weekend or at home to Getafe - as the Italian also wanted to try out Keylor Navas in goal before the end of the season.
"He chose the game at the Bernabeu on Saturday and many are speculating that this could now be his final match."
Iker Casillas has been with Real Madrid more than half of his life. With the team, he won three Champions League and five La Liga trophies.
Will he leave? Wait for the next Iker Casillas news in the coming days.
