Ukrainian model Valeria Lukyanova has been dubbed the human barbie due to her doll-like features and rather non-human-like proportions.
Lukyanova recently revealed that some of the recent photos that she uploaded on Facebook have been Photoshopped to “correct defects,” a claim that she had once denied, according to the Huffington Post.
“The pictures are Photoshopped to achieve smoothness and color correction,” Lukyanova told Cosmo.
“The pictures were taken in the botanical garden on the phone. They are not high quality. I had to edit them in order to correct the defects of the phone picture.”
The 29-year-old has continued to be the subject of controversy due to her reported multiple plastic surgeries and alarming views on eating and “race-mixing.” The recently uploaded pictures of Lukyanova in tiny jean shorts and a midriff-bearing top has garnered criticism as well.
“I feel so sorry for her. It must be horrible to hate yourself so much that you feel the need to go to such lengths, only to end up looking like this,” wrote Facebook user Jennifer Doyle Janke.
Fellow social media user David Lowe commented, “One’s self esteem must be shattered in order to take it to that sort of extreme. I hope she’s happy because that has to be an extremely exhausting lifestyle.”
The recently uploaded Facebook photos were reportedly intended to cast Lukyanova as an “Amazonian warrior woman.” Lukyanova had reportedly taken on a new workout regimen after being attacked outside her home last year.
Despite the negativity Lukyanova has been receiving via social media, she has stated that those that criticize her are just “openly jealous,” according to the NY Daily News.
“Those who are unsatisfied with what I do and critique me and offend me clearly don’t have the same figure as I do. Otherwise they would not be so negative,” stated Lukyanova.
The Human Barbie has continued to create her “ideal” physical appearance, one that isn’t in tune with the rest of the world.
“Everyone wants a slim figure. Everyone gets breasts done. Everyone fixes up their face if it’s not ideal, you know? Everyone strives for the golden mean. It’s global now,” Lukyanova stated during an interview with GQ last year.
