Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) looks like she's facing an uncertain future in "The Originals" season 3. Dahlia (Claudia Black) put her and the entire pack under the Crescent Curse, forcing them to live as wolves all the time except for the full moon.
Will fans see less of Hayley now that she's forced to stay in wolf form most of the time? How will her absence affect Hope's life?
Tonkin didn't exactly give TV Line a clear picture of her involvement in "The Originals" season 3 but she does look forward to seeing another side of Hayley this Fall.
"Right now, we're only going to see Hayley once a month," she told the site during the CW's upfront presentation last week. "I hope that at least one episode will be the full day when I'm human."
As for Hayley's wolf form, Tonkin would definitely want to see it.
"I don't know if we've seen that yet, and it could be really cool," she added.
With her roaming the woods all the time now, Hope is left in the care of her very volatile but overprotective father. Although there's no doubt that Klaus (Joseph Morgan) would be willing to do anything to keep his daughter safe, Hayley (and most of the show's avid viewers) worry about his parenting skills, as well as the values he could pass on to Hope.
In the season two finale, Hayley was able to talk Elijah (Daniel Gillies) into letting go of his initial plan to abandon Klaus after the latter burned his new girlfriend, Gia, to a crisp. Hope definitely needed someone with Elijah's morals to balance out Klaus' reckless behavior.
"I think Klaus had better sire some nannies," Tonkin jokingly said, adding that Hayley won't be forgiving the father of her child anytime soon.
"Even if he did it for the good of his baby, I don't think he did it in the right way," she continued. "He should have let Hayley know that's what he was doing so she could have been part of the plan. But he didn't do that, so now, [she's] pissed."
Thankfully, Freya, who was recently promoted to series regular, will help raise Hope and teach her to control her power.
