‘Minority Report’ TV Show Looks Into How The Precogs Turned Out After The 2002 Movie! Watch The First Trailer Here! [Video]

When the "Minority Report" TV show was initially announced, fans of the original movie thought that Fox will only create a retelling of the film which starred Tom Cruise in 2002.

According to the recently released trailer, however, that doesn't look to be the case. While the Steven Spielberg-produced film centered on Agatha's story, the new series will focus on the twin precogs.

The series takes place years after the Precrime program was dismantled and the three children were given their freedom to lead a "normal" life. In the film, they were relocated to an undisclosed island, however, based on the new series' new trailer and synopsis, one of the twins decided to go back to the city.

Even though the program was already dismantled, Dash (Stark Sands) can still see flashes of the future. Plagued by visions of murders that he can't stop on time, he partners with Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) to stop the crimes he sees.

"The Minority Report follow-up takes place 10 years after the end of Precrime in D.C. when one of the three Precogs struggles to lead a 'normal' human life but remains haunted by visions of the future. He meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift," Slashfilm previously quoted the "Minority Report" TV show's synopsis.

Although he can see flashes of the crime about to be committed he doesn't see the names, noting that his twin brother, Arthur, is the one with that ability.

Seeing as the original film heavily used special effects, viewers can also expect the "Minority Report" TV to be filled with effects to portray the advanced technology during show's timeline, 2065.

The Verge believes that the series will adapt the crime-of-the-week system but with an underlying storyline having to do with the debunked Precrime program.

The "Minority Report" TV show will air on Fox this Fall.
