Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight is basically staged to end the debate on who is the best fighter between the two.
The fight happened last May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena with Pretty Boy emerging as the victor. However, people's reception of the fight is not that great. They are not convinced it was what the Fight of the Century is supposed to look like. For many, they think Mayweather Jr did not prove anything in his latest boxing fight.
It is not just the public who are not sold about the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight. Even the camp of Pretty Boy. In an interview with OnTheRopesBoxing.com, Mayweather's trainer and uncle Roger said his guy should give Pacman rematch a green light because it will help him validate the legacy he will leave to the sport.
"Floyd's legacy is going to be good but he needs to close that legacy with Pacquiao. He needs to go back and him and Pacquiao need to do it again. That's what I think. To close the door in terms of victory, that's what he needs to do," Roger said.
Although he thinks the first Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight would not affect his nephew's great legacy, he still believes Pretty Boy should beat a healthy Pacman who in the wake of his defeat claimed he had a shoulder injury.
"That would put him amongst the greatest fighters, but Floyd had a good, long legacy anyways," said Roger.
"He will be amongst some of the greatest fighters but he's got to close the thing with Pacquiao before he ever does that, because that's one of the known guys that people respect and I think that's the guy that he's gonna have to beat or have to show something with."
Right now, reports have it that the Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight is now under negotiations.
