Katie Holmes has had a rough year following her divorce from Tom Cruise and leaving his controversial Church of Scientology, and now the actress wants to live a more simple life in New York and has already been snapped riding the subway and says she's sworn off dating actors.
The former "Dawson's Creek" star stunned the world when she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise in June, and their marriage was officially ended in August when the settlement was signed.
Holmes has since been seen frequently walking the streets New York City with the couple's daughter Suri, 6, and now she's taken to riding subway trains around the city. Click here to see a photo of Katie Holmes on the Metro in New York.
Not only is she trying to have a regular lifestyle, she also wants to have nothing more to do with actors. According to Radar Online, Holmes is instead being introduced to artists by her fashion business partner, Jeanne Yang.
"Katie doesn't want to tie herself down just yet, but she says she's done going out with actors," a source revealed to the gossip website.
"Her previous relationships with Joshua (Jackson), Chris (Klein) and Tom (Cruise) didn't work out, so she thinks she should look away from her own profession.
"Jeanne Yang, her business partner for the Holmes & Yang fashion label, has taken Katie to some art gallery openings recently and she's met tons of interesting artists.
"She's been saying now that if she does date anyone, it could be someone who works in the arts world.
"Katie's more interested in the quiet life now and an unassuming artist would fit the bill perfectly for when she's ready," the source revealed.
However, British magazine Grazia claims ex-fiance Chris Klein himself has actually been sneaking in to Katie's buildings for visits, Australia's News Network reports. "Chris was a real ladies' man when they were first together ... he also had a major problem with alcohol," a source says. "He's really cleaned himself up since then ... Katie likes the new Chris a whole lot more."
