‘Dragon Ball Super’ TV Animation Gets Manga Adaptation, Will Be Released Via V Jump Magazine In August

"Dragon Ball Super" TV animation will have a manga adaptation that will be launched in August.

After 18 years the 'Dragon Ball Z' is getting a sequel called the 'Dragon Ball Chou (Super) as "chou" (超) means "super," "hyper," "ultra," or even "very,'' Kotaku reported.

Reports claimed that the new animated tv series will run in 100 episodes which will start to on Sundays this July on Fuji TV and other TV channels in Japan, and its manga adaptation will be released on extra-large issue of V Jump Magazine.

The manga adaptation will be written by Toyotaro, author of the "Dragon Ball Heroes" and will team up with "Dragon Ball Super" creator Akira Toriyama .

The 78-year-old voice actor Masako Nozawawill has confirmed that he will return to voice the characters of Goku, Gohan and Goten.

Though it still months away from its air date, Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki have already teased about the upcoming animated series storyline that it will take place after Goku defeated Majin Buu as the earth is peaceful again.

"As I read the plot [of the series] I've already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand. An enemy even stronger than Buu or Freeza may appear," Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki said. (via IGN)

The last "Dragon Ball" TV series was "Dragon Ball GT," which aired from 1996 to 1997. While its first movie "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection" movie, reportedly earned about $8.1 million on its its first two days at the Japanese box office this weekend and "sold approximately 716,000 tickets in its first weekend," Anime News Network added.
