"The Originals" season 3 will be joining its parent series on its Thursday schedule this fall, TV Fanatic reported.
The two series produced by Julie Plec will reportedly be matched against Shonda Rhimes' shows on Thursdays. "The Vampire Diaries" will be pitted against "Grey's Anatomy" for the 8 PM slot, while "The Originals" will have to contend with 'Scandal' at 9 PM.
Rhime's other show, 'How To Get Away With Murder', is set to air a little later at 10 PM.
Meanwhile, Plec's co-producer Michael Narducci recently teased fans of a new "frightening" mythology for "The Originals" season 3.
"That's what we've been talking about in the writers' room for a very long time now," Narducci told Entertainment Weekly. "I think when we are finally able to reveal what's happening, it should make a lot of sense and feel like the next stage in what this family will need to go through and deal with."
As to what the Mikaelsons will face after Dahlia, he added, "It's pretty frightening and we're having a lot of fun with it."
With Riley Voelkel promoted to series regular it would be interesting to see how the family dynamic will change with Freya now in the mix.
According to Narducci, Freya will help raise Hope and help her control her powers.
"Even though Hope is a first-born Mikaelson and has a lot of power as a witch, Freya too is a first-born Mikaelson and might be just the person to help Hope figure out who she is and how to grow up and be a healthy person," he revealed.
The CW also released a video of both producers giving fans some more hint about the upcoming season. Will Klaus and Elijah's relationship be repaired? Will Hayley stayed cursed forever?
Fans will have to wait and see what "The Originals" season 3 has in store this Fall.
