'The Flash' Episode Guide: Devastating, Sad Finale Teased By Danielle Panabaker

Looks like fans need to prepare their tissues, or might as well, towels, once the finale of hit superhero TV series "The Flash" kicks in. First, lead actor Grant Gustin said the final episode of his show will be an 'emotional' one. According to recent "The Flash" episode guide and promo videos, the episode titled "Fast Enough" will see the Scarlet Speedster race back in time to save his mother, his mission ever since learning he can travel to the past.

For Danielle Panabaker, who plays Barry's friend and colleague Caitlin Snow, it won't be just an emotional episode, it will be devastating.

"Oh, man. Our season finale is absolutely incredible," Panabaker told in an interview with Entertainment Weekly when asked for a "The Flash" episode guide.

"All season, we've been slowly uncovering more and more about Dr. Wells and it's finally time to understand who he is and how evil his masterplan is. You will see a lot of familiar faces and, truthfully, the finale is devastating. There's a lot of consequences-some really, really sad ones."

Happy ending or not, the final "The Flash" episode for its first season will only set up bigger things for its sophomore run which will start this fall. So if things will end up bad for the characters, there is a lot to be excited about its return on a geek's stand point. That includes Panabaker's character becoming DC supervillain Killer Frost.

Based on comics, Caitlin Snow is the alter ego of the ice-powered Killer Frost. However, she was used in the CW series as among the protagonists. In his Reddit AMA, Panabaker confirmed her character will go to the dark side, and this has been the plan all-season long.

"From the beginning, I knew that Caitlin Snow becomes Killer Frost," says Panabaker," and I can't wait to suit up and duke it out with the boys!"

The final "The Flash" episode will air on May 19.
