Just a few days removed from its third season finale, the internet is already flooded with spoilers for "Arrow" season 4.
With all the DC Comics Easter Eggs dropped in the finale titled "My Name is Oliver Queen," fans can't help but expect the arrival of the one of the founding members of Justice League. Green Lantern was never really mentioned in the CW Network show, only the Coast City where he lived. However, that is enough for many to think Green Lantern will be a part of the show when it returns this fall.
In an "Arrow" season 4 spoiler he provided to during a CW event in New York, Stephen Amell said he does not know anything yet what is ahead. What he is sure about though is there will be more scenes inside Coast City, not necessarily with Green Lantern or his alter ego Hal Jordan.
"What will the show look like next season, do you have any sense?" the interviewer asked to which Stephen Amell responded:
"I have no sense. I had a really good sense in the (season) one and the two and the three. I know nothing about season 4. I know a little bit about the flashbacks. Actually, I know the whole flashbacks story but in terms of present day, I don't know."
Amell later confirmed "Arrow" season 4 will see more of Green Lantern's Coast City.
"We will hear that name again. H.I.V.E., Damien Darhk, Coast City, all that good stuff.
Lighter and more fun "Arrow" season 4?
In another "Arrow" season 4 spoiler from showrunner Marc Guggenheim, it is confirmed the show will walk away from its dark, gritty concept.
"It will take a lighter tone. That's pretty much the only thing I say without spoiling it," Guggenheim said in an interview with io9. "We've been working for about a month now in the writers' room, talking about Season Four, and I think that one thing we all collectively understood was Season Three beginning with Sara's death, because it's the death of a major character on the show, it set a tone for the remainder of the season. And I'm not the least bit apologetic for that tone. I happen to like dark and I like the fact that Arrow is a pretty dark show particularly for a network show. That said, every year you want to mix things up and there was sort of a collective desire on all of our parts to try to inject a little bit more lightness into the show, a little bit more humor. It's not going to radically change. The show's still going to be the show but in terms of tone we're coming off a very very hard season for all of our characters. We wanted to try to mix it up a little bit."
