Those few weeks that Austin Mahone and Camila Cabello dated last year sent fans of both young stars into a frenzy. However, that same frenzy turned into disappointment when the "Mmm Yeah" singer indirectly dissed his past relationship with the Fifth Harmony member in an interview earlier this month.
"We're dating," Mahone confessed about his new flame, Becky G. "It's crazy, I never had, like, a real relationship before, so it's pretty crazy."
Cabello later posted a cryptic statement on Twitter that seemed to allude to Mahone's implication that he wasn't sincere during their short-lived relationship.
"D*mn....good to know," she tweeted.
The 19-year-old Texas native may not have thought their time together as anything special but the "Sledgehammer" singer certainly saw it as more than a short-lived fling.
"I don't regret anything," she recently told Seventeen magazine, reassuring fans that she doesn't have ill feelings towards her former flame. "It was my first kiss, my first love."
Instead of seeing their time together as something to be hurt about, she thought of it as a learning experience.
"It's important to learn about liking somebody and being swept away, but it wasn't meant to be," she added.
The Austin Mahone and Camila Cabello ship may sunk a long time ago, but the 18-year-old songstress hopes that she will be paired with someone else in the near future.
"I'll find somebody else," the self-confessed hopeless romantic told the magazine. "It's a cycle. I love love. I'm, like, obsessed with it."
Right now, Mahone is looking very happy in the arms of his new love, Becky G. They followed up their public confession with an intimate video showing them on a date.
