The last episode of the first season of "The Flash" is about to happen. What is another thing that will go down? Tears probably. According to a "The Flash" episode guide from Grant Gustin, who plays the title role, the penultimate week of the freshman season will be all but fun.
"It's really emotional. It's a heartbreaking finale. We've incorporated time-travel in the first season and the finale has a lot of that," Gustin said in an interview with E! Online in a CW Network event in New York.
"It's just a really heartbreaking conclusion to the first season. And it does wrap things up in a nice way to hopefully be able to move on different tone for season two."
Will Barry Allen get a happy ending? The latest "The Flash" episode saw him defeat his nemesis Reverse Flash (Tom Cavanagh) with the help of Arrow (Stephen Amell) and Firestorm (Robbie Amell). However, as fans should know by now, the Yellow Streak is always a step ahead compared to the Flash since he was from the future. In recent "The Flash" episode guide/video promo, Barry races back in time to save his mom. Will he succeed? Find out next week.
As for Iris West (Candice Patton), Barry's childhood friend and apple of the eye, it seems she and the Scarlet Speedster might not end up together just yet in the final "The Flash" episode. In an interview in the same event, Candice Patton told E! Online Iris West hasn't give up on Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) who canceled their engagement after learning from Reverse Flash that she married Barry in the future.
"Iris hasn't personally seen the newspaper (from the future) but heard about it from Eddie," Patton said when asked if Iris believes she is meant to be with Barry.
"What I love about Iris is she's so loyal and her morals is still intact. She loves Eddie. I think deep down she has a big heart for Barry and he might be her one true love but I think right now she is committed to her relationship with Eddie and she does not care what the future says."
