‘Gears Of War: Remastered’ Release Date Could Be At E3: Microsoft Clarifies Suspended Accounts On Xbox Live Can Still Used Offline

| By

Microsoft has finally released its official statement about the leaked 'Gears Of War: Remastered' on Xbox Live, while it is rumored to be officially announced at E3.

Recently, a remastered version of 'Gearsof War' for Xbox One has been rumored to be in the works, and has been confirmed by the series of leaked videos of the game. The videos that were uploaded online even revealed the gameplay of the action-packed video game.

Behind these series of leaked videos was identified by Microsoft as VMC Games which runs testing for Microsoft through their Global Beta Testing Network (GBTN) and later found out that 'some of their testers, who were all under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) are responsible for the leaks,'Attack of the Fanboy reported.

In an email to Kotaku, VMC Games has elaborated that Microsost has suspended Xbox Live accounts as it broke Microsoft's EULA, 'an agreement with which is necessary to create an Xbox Live account. As a result, any of the people who shared or leaked this information online has had their Xbox Live account disabled and their Xbox One console rendered unusable by Microsoft. The letter explains that the console lock will remain in effect for as long as Microsoft deems necessary, depending on the severity of the transgression,' IGN reported.

"This being said, as per that agreement with the testers in fault, Microsoft also permanently disabled their Xbox LIVE accounts (as well as other suspected accounts present on their Xbox One kits) and temporarily blocked all of their Xbox One privileges - meaning that for a period of time which Microsoft decides on depending on the severity of the offense, their Xbox One is entirely unusable,"VMC Games wrote in their email to Kotaku.

In response to these claim, Microsoft has clarified that though suspended, these accounts can still be used offline.

"To be clear, if a console is suspended from Xbox Live for a violation of the Terms of Use, it can still be used offline. Microsoft enforcement action does not result in a console becoming unusable. Suspensions for both consoles and accounts are determined by looking at a number of factors. To avoid enforcement action including suspension from the service, users should follow the Xbox Live Terms of Use and Code of Conduct," Microsoft wrote on its official statement.
