Red Hot Chili Peppers New Album Confirmed & Already In Recording! Former Guitarist John Frusciante Shares Friendship With Flea

| By

It's confirmed, Red Hot Chili Peppers is working on a new album following the 2011 record, "I'm With You."

In an interview with Rolling Stone late last year, Will Ferrell's doppleganger and the band's drummer, Chad Smith confirmed that a new album is indeed on its way and it's packed with "unique" stuff for fans to enjoy.

"We've already recorded some of the songs, just a few that we've been working on. But this is also going to be in addition to those. It's a new process. I don't know how long it's going to take. We'll have a record out next year," the 53-year-old drummer and doppleganger to comedian Will Ferrell said.

Adding, "The new album is shaping up good, man."

"We've got lots of songs, and we're working with an unnamed producer who is really challenging us to find new ways to come up with new music. We've done the 'guys get in the room and jam out songs, everybody playing together all at once' thing. And we wrote a bunch of songs that way. And we're now going to try another method that will be really challenging for us and will bring new, exciting results for the band. We've written and recorded in a way that we've never done before, so the record is going great. We all have high hopes that it's going to take off and we're going to do something very different and unique for the Red Hot Chili Peppers."

And just recently, the band's very comical and highly entertaining bassist, Flea revealed to his Twitter followers that they are already starting to record for the new album.

However, he soon deleted his post, luckily though, Alternative Nation was able screen capture it.

The deleted tweet also included the name of the surprise producer, who is Danger Mouse.

Perhaps Red Hot Chili Peppers is already done rehearsing their new singles that they are now ready to record for the new album, which Flea previously explained to Rolling Stone.

"We've been writing and rehearsing, rolling up our sleeves, getting in the studio and doing it," Flea claimed. "We're nearly finished writing. We'll go in the studio sometime in the next couple of months."

And while everyone is busy with the recording, the band's former lead guitarist, John Frusciante, who is also busy with his solo projects, talks about his friendship with Flea and the band members.

"Flea and I had it the first time we played together," Frusciante said in an interview with Uproxx. "There was something there. But we developed it. Flea once read something [jazz drummer] Elvin Jones said about having chemistry with somebody: 'You gotta be willing to die for a motherf*cker.'"
