The decision is reportedly final, "Hart of Dixie" is now officially cancelled, VC Post reported.
CW president Mark Pedowitz previously stated they are closely looking into the show's ratings before they make their final decision and it seems like the show's ratings are not good enough for the management, thus they've decided to cancell the drama-comedy show after its fourth season.
"We're going to see the ratings," he announced. "I think Leila did a great job in the 10 episodes this year of making something fun for the fans. So if it ends, there's a great finale. If it doesn't end, there's a great season finale, but we're not committed one way or the other yet."
However, there is reportedly one angle to the story that fans know nothing about, apparently Rachel Bilson has something to do with the show's cancellation.
In an interview with E! News, Bilson's co-star Jamie King insisted that the there is actually no issues with the ratings, instead "Hart of Dixie's" fate relied heavily on Rachel Bilson's decision to either return or leave the series.
"It's a tricky situation because it really isn't about ratings for us," she admitted. "It's not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an imp at on the way things are decided upon. It's very interesting because our fans are so devoted."
Unfortunately for the 36-year-old actress, she won't be able to go back to the set that she missess so much.
"It's really interesting, because when my son wakes up in the middle of the night, immediately I'm like, 'Oh! It's time for me to get to set!' It makes me want to cry because I love this show so much. It's still a success. It's really whatever the universe has in store. Either way, it's been such a gift."
Meanwhile, Rachel Bilson, who is reportedly responsible for the show's cancellation is still nowhere to be found. Apparently, Bilson and her long time fiance Hayden Christensen flew out of Los Angeles together with their daughter Briar Rose, E! Online reported.
According to Kpopstarz, Rachel Bilson is trying to keep her baby away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi, especially now that there are reports claiming that she's behind the reason why "Hart of Dixie" got cancelled.
