There will be a Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch. If it is Showtime Sports boss Stephen Espinoza you will ask, there is a chance the public will see these two fighters slug it out again in the future.

The two fought last May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena wherein the American boxer kept his undefeated record via a unanimous decision.

"I think it can happen," Espinoza tells boxingscene.com referring to a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight rematch.

"Well, I think time will tell because this fight ultimately got made because of the two fighters wanted the fight and the fans wanted the fight. If these guys see their way to get together again, and it's something that most importantly the fans want, then I think it can happen."

Previously, the two fighters expressed desire to go at it again. However, fans' hopes of Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch were dashed after the previous told reporters he is not interested anymore. This roots from Pacman's revelation that he had shoulder injury before their fight. Floyd thinks Pacman is just making excuses and cannot accept his defeat.

While Espinoza is optimistic about Floyd Mayweather Jr - Manny Pacquiao fight rematch, he insist there should have a bigger reason behind other than money.

"I don't think it makes sense to have a rematch simply for financial reasons. It's really got to be something that the fans demand and that the audience is calling for," said Espinoza.

"I think the biggest element that sort of sets the stage for a rematch is the fact that it was a very competitive fight. I think on most judges Floyd pulled away in the later rounds but up through the first half of the fight, it certainly was, they were sort of neck and neck and from that perspective I thought it was a very exciting, competitive and engaging fight, throughout but particularly the first six rounds it was anyone's fight."
